Activity

1. Students can select another state and outline the structure of that state’s legislative branch.

2. At the beginning of the legislative session, the teacher will assist students in identifying key issues to be addressed by the South Dakota state legislature. The class will create a chart to be posted in the classroom and will monitor the progress of the bills throughout the legislative session.

3. Students can track the results of bills proposed by South Dakota’s Congressmen.

4. Students propose a change to government policy. (School, city, county state or national) 

5. Draft a bill to become a law
