Non-certified administrators must submit plan by July 1
All non-certified administrators – chief executive officers and building managers – must have a “Plan of Intent” submitted to the department’s Office of Accreditation and Teacher Quality prior to July 1, 2005. South Dakota Codified Law 13-42-28 requires that all administrators be properly certified by July 1, 2008 . The plan should outline your objectives for obtaining certification by the deadline.

The following alternative routes are available to assist chief executive officers and building managers in meeting this requirement: professional development plan, testing alternative or waiver alternative. Information on these alternatives and the “Plan of Intent” form are available at www.doe.sd.gov/oatq by clicking on “Non-Certified Administrators.”

Questions on this requirement can be directed to Roxie Thielen at (605) 773-4669 or roxie.thielen@state.sd.us.
