New SPED rules mirror federal regulations

The South Dakota Board of Education recently approved administrative rule changes related to special education. Basically, these changes update the rules so that they mirror federal regulations as amended by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act 2004. This alignment is necessary in order to receive federal funding. Questions regarding the rule changes can be directed to the department’ special education staff.
