The Testing Alternative
Group 1
1) Applies to those currently
serving as building managers (serving in the capacity of a principal) or
CEOs (serving in the capacity of a superintendent).
2) These individuals must take the
exam and
submit their passing scores to the State Department of Education.
3) A passing score on the
exam grants
the individual authorization (endorsement) to serve in their current* capacity for up to
five years (July 2010).
4) Individuals who intend to continue
in education after July 2010, must submit professional
development plans by July 1, 2005, outlining their intent to complete either a
principal endorsement/program or superintendent endorsement/program.
*If the individual is currently a
building manager, they will receive the principal endorsement. If the
individual is currently a CEO, they will receive the superintendent
endorsement. If the individual is serving in both capacities, they will
receive both endorsements.
Group 2
1) Applies to those who have
lapsed superintendent endorsement certificates and are currently serving as CEOs.
2) These individuals must take the
exam and
submit their passing scores to the State Department of Education.
3) A passing score on the
exam
recertifies the individual. The individual must then complete the six hours of coursework
required for
renewal by July 2008.
4) These individuals must submit professional development plans by July 2005 outlining their intent to complete the career
superintendent program (specialist degree). |
