K-12
Ongoing 3% formula increase = +$7.1 million (+$127.13/student)
TOTAL ongoing: $7.1 million
One-time appropriations:
- $6.5 million for school districts that make AYP; for those
that do not, a grant may be applied for through DOE
(approximately + $54/student)
- $1.5 million for sparse school districts
- $2.3 million for K-12 and technical schools for increased
energy costs
- $1 million for secondary career/tech education programs
TOTAL one-time appropriations: $11,300,000
TOTAL K-12 EDUCATION FUNDING: +$17,400,000
Technical school funding
- Ongoing = +$1,116,103 million (3% increase and increase of
173 Full Time Equivalent students)
TOTAL ongoing: $1,116,103 million
One-time appropriations:
- $286,000 Western Dakota Tech roof repairs (SB 65)
- $360,000 repair and maintenance of tech school buildings (HB
1103)
- $800,000 one-time funding
- TOTAL one-time appropriations for tech schools: $1,446,000
- GRAND TOTAL for K-12 and Tech School funding: +$19,962,103
K-12 Per Student
- Per-student base from previous year = $4,237
- $4,237 + $127.13 (ongoing 3 percent) = $4,364.13
- $4,364.13 + $54 (one-time for AYP districts) = $4,418.13
