Stanford 10 Abbreviated
The Stanford 10 Abbreviated gives educators objective, valid
evidence of what students know and are able to do and helps them make
data-driven decisions. Reports were designed with input from
administrators and teachers across the country. Parents better understand
their child’s achievement level and get direction for home involvement.
Administrators obtain data to document and monitor the progress of all
children and to disaggregate results according to federal mandates.
The Stanford 10 Abbreviated questions at each level are
carefully designed to mirror as closely as possible the developmental
process of good instruction and the kinds of instructional activities and
materials used in exemplary programs.
The Stanford 10 is the
basic platform for South Dakota’s Dakota State Test of Educational
Progress or Dakota STEP. The Stanford 10 Abbreviated was
augmented to fully assess South Dakota Content Standards in reading and
mathematics as required by No Child Left Behind. See the Dakota
STEP webpage for more information about this specific assessment.
