USDLC Renewal Credit Application Options

As a South Dakota educator you can participate in this online professional development to receive South Dakota Department of Education Renewal Credit. Below are the DOE renewal credit options available. At current date no college credit is offered for these programs.

Option 1:  Select enough online videos to complete 15 contact hours per/ each teacher renewal credit sought. This option will provide you with either 1 or 2 teacher renewal credits, depending on the level chosen. 

____ Level 1 (1.0 DOE teacher certificate renewal credits) view and evaluate 15 hours of streamed online professional development videos and complete evaluations for each one viewed as well as complete a final reaction paper for all videos to receive 1 teacher certificate renewal credit, submit copies of each videos completion certificate totaling 15 hours as proof of completion to the South Dakota Department of Education Course Coordinator for final approval.

____ Level 2 (2.0 DOE teacher certificate renewal credits) view and evaluate 30 hours of streamed online professional development videos and complete evaluations for each one viewed as well as complete a final reaction paper for all videos to receive 2 teacher certificate renewal credit, submit copies of each videos completion certificate totaling 30 hours to the South Dakota Department of Education Course Coordinator for final approval.

Option 2: complete an online course, in order to receive 2 or 3 Teacher renewal credits, depending on the level chosen.

____ Level 1 (2.0 DOE teacher certificate renewal credits) I will complete three hours of work for each module, 30 total for the ten modules, and submit my Webfolio Report to the South Dakota Department of Education Course Coordinator for final approval.

____ Level 2 (3.0 DOE teacher certificate renewal credits) I will complete Level 1 plus design a L2L Classroom Project for my students inspired by one or more of the modules and actually implement and evaluate the results. I will submit the developed plan and the evaluation report, with my Webfolio Report and evaluation of the project to the South Dakota Department of Education Course Coordinator for final approval.
