The
World of Work: The History of Work in Minnesota
A key challenge for men and women down through the ages has been
the art and science of "making a living". This is a glimpse into
how the people of Minnesota worked, made a living, and provided goods and
services in the past; how they have adapted to technological and social
changes in their work; and how they might work in the future.

features his original commentary.
Labor Arts
A work in progress, this virtual museum is designed to gather,
identify and display examples of the cultural and artistic history of
working people and to celebrate the trade union movement's contributions
to that history.
Between a Rock and a
Hard Place
The history of American Sweatshops from 1820 to the present is
presented by the Smithsonian Institute.
Federal Labor Law

largely a product of the New Deal era of the 1930s. While Congress has
acted to raise the Federal minimum wage and has considered labor law
reform affecting both private and public employees, no major new labor
laws have been passed over the past several decades. |
