Who can use the services offered by Birth to Three Connections?
Any family, parent and child who lives in South Dakota and is eligible
may receive services. Whether you live on a farm,
ranch, in a town, or on tribal land, there are people you can talk with to
find out more about the services offered by Birth to Three Connections.
Children who have a developmental delay or a disability can receive
services under Birth to Three Connections.

What is a developmental delay or a disability?
If your child grows, learns or changes at a slower rate than most
children, he or she may have a developmental delay. Delays may occur in
one or more of these areas:
- thinking skills
- language skills
- social or emotional growth
- self-help skills
- physical growth

How do I know if my child needs early intervention services?
Any family, parent and child who lives in South Dakota and is eligible
to receive services, you can call Birth to Three Connections at 1-800-305-3064
or call the local service coordinator in your area to talk about your
concerns. To locate your service coordinator, please view the
service coordinator map. Free screenings are
available for children under 3 years of age.
