NATIONAL FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE SATELLITE SEMINAR

 

The National Food Service Management Institute will hold a one hour satellite conference titled “Valuing Differences in the Workplace” on April 23, 2003, from 3:00-4:00 pm eastern time. 

 

Habits, customs, and beliefs of other cultures are some of the key issues addressed in this satellite seminar.  The objectives are to enable food service managers and supervisory personnel to:

  •  Recognize the dynamics of culture in the United States and its influence on the workplace.

  •  Identify skills that open lines of communication while fostering understanding of others.

  • Develop and implement personal strategies to increase knowledge about different cultures.

The satellite conference can be viewed in Studio A of the Capital Building, Pierre, SD from 2:00-3:00 PM central time.  Anyone wishing to view the conference in Pierre should contact Sarah Straight at 605-773-4718 for more information and to ensure that handouts are available for you.  The conference will be videotaped for future viewing.
