A packet was mailed to NSLP authorized
representatives in late November with several pieces of information including
another copy of Accommodating Children with Special Dietary Needs in the
School Nutrition Programs – Guidance for School Food Service Staff and our
numbered memo NSLP 45.1 with instruction and recommended procedure for
planning to meet those needs. The packet also included Eligibility
Guidance for School Meals Manual, SD Numbered Memos NSLP 77 Baby
Fruits or Vegetables with DHA, NSLP 76 - an optional form for food
service staff to use with food bars, NSLP 80 - information on
Standardized Recipes, NSLP 81 - changes to the USDA Food Buying
Guide. The last piece in the packet is Federal Register Volume 68.
No. 176 dated September 11, 2003 contains changes in regulations to the
verification requirements in the School Lunch Program which will go into
effect in school year 2005.
