TIDBITS FROM SANDRA

“The best birthdays of all are those that haven’t arrived yet.”  - - Robert Orben.  The New Year is much like a birthday that just arrived – we’re looking forward to a new year, happy that it’s here, happy that “we made it through” another one.  What are we doing to make sure we are not “just making it through,” but that we are making the most of this year?  We’re a month into it – how are those resolutions? Time to start on them again, and again, and again.  Be true to yourself and stick with it.  You can do it!

Certification Institute will be here before we know it (June 22 – 27), as well as the fall conference and workshop (July 29 – August 1).  Start planning your budgets now so you have dollars and time to attend.  It’s a great way to grow and to help others grow.

The mentoring program is going very well.  We have some very capable folks who are helping others grow – and likely seeing some growth for themselves, too.

Sometimes we’re digging and we don’t know why - Little Johnny was helping his Grandpa dig potatoes.  They dug in the morning, took a break, dug some more, had noon lunch, and went to dig even some more.  “Grandpa,” Little Johnnny said, “Why did you bury all these potatoes out here?”

What have you done for nutrition education and for community/student/parent involvement so far this year?  There’s still time to plan something if you haven’t done so already.  March’s Nutrition Month, CACFP Week, and National School Breakfast Week provide ready opportunities to complete some of these activities.  Let us know what you “dig up” for ideas!
