 Commodity Pudding?!!?
Yes, it’s true! “Commodity” pudding is available. Chocolate
was available to order for September. It is a bonus product meaning the
cost will not come out of your entitlement dollars. It was purchased As of August 1, 2003, there was over 1.3 billion pounds of non fat dry milk in federal storage.
Plans under a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract indicate up to
60 million pounds of pudding could be exchanged for non fat dry milk from June 2003,
to July 2004. The offer price (exchange rate) in the pudding invitation was to be quoted as a
ratio of the pounds of non fat dry milk per pound of pudding. Challenge Dairy Products and
Conagra Foods were awarded the contract.
