Facing challenges in today’s school
food service arena? Not enough time to get everything done that is required or
requested of you? Well, we may be able to provide that extra assistance that
you need to make the job easier, efficient and more effective with the time
and staff you have.
The SD Department of Education Child
and Adult Nutrition Services, in partnership with SDSU Cooperative Extension
Service is offering a school food service mentoring program. This program
is offered as a service to schools at no charge through a Team
Nutrition Grant. The program pairs an experienced food service director
with school food service personnel in schools that may be experiencing some
challenges in certain areas of the school lunch program. Areas include (but
are not limited to): food procurement, menu planning, food production,
marketing, cost control, special diets and personnel management.
