Dr. Philip Fitch Vincent
Dr.
Vincent brings more than 20 successful years of experience in
education to his presentations, workshops, and best selling books.
His books include “Promising Practices in Character Education” and
“Developing Character in Students.” The CBS News with Dan Rather
and USA Today have featured Dr. Vincent's staff development
work for school civility. He has written numerous journal articles
about developing character, gifted education, computer ethics, and
working with at-risk students in an alternative classroom setting.
He is a regular contributor to various educational publications.
He has
taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in North
Carolina and Alaska, and has taught graduate education courses at
North Carolina State University. He has been director of
middle-grades education in a large and diverse school system, and
had served as director of the Center for Ethics, Public Policy and
Leadership at Greensboro College, Greensboro, North Carolina.
Charlie Abourjilie
A former high school teacher, principal, and
coach, Abourjilie
presents a collection of wise, creative and practical strategies.
These have proven workable from his firsthand experience in both the
inner city classroom and the suburban countryside. His presentations
leave you empowered with the enthusiasm and tools to change your
school, classrooms and the lives of the children you work with.
He is now the State
Coordinator of Character Education for the State of North Carolina.
He knows how tough it is to teach character at the secondary level.
His book, “Developing Character for Classroom Success: Strategies
for Secondary Students”, shows how it can be done successfully.
