Coordinated School Health - 8 Components
Parent/Community Involvement
Communities can form powerful coalitions to address the health needs of students. One of the biggest benefits of Coordinated School Health can be closer working relationships between parents and schools. School and community involvement establishes and promotes collaborative efforts, not only within school, but with parents, business, local health providers, and other community groups interested in the health outcomes of students. Development of out-of-school time programs and school/community policies regarding substance abuse are examples of partnerships.
