Governor Rounds' Healthy School Awards
2008 Award Deadline has Passed!
Governor Mike Rounds challenges South Dakota schools to compete for a
Governor's Healthy School Award in the 5th annual competition. Winners
will be selected in four categories: elementary school, middle
school/junior high, high school, and school district. The top candidate
in each category will receive $5,000 and a healthy school banner.
This award provides public schools with local
and state recognition for their leadership in the area of school health
programming including the areas of nutrition services, health services,
health education, physical education, counseling services, family and
community involvement and health promotion. Selected schools will serve
as models for other schools.
