2007-2008 Safe,
Drug, and Gun Free Schools Report |
The Departments of Human Services and Education request your
district’s submission of
2007-2008 Safe, Drug, and Gun Free Schools data. This data is
required to be reported annually for Title IV and for the Gun-Free
Schools Act. This data submission will also be utilized by DOE for
the identification of “persistently dangerous schools” (for further
clarification see Unsafe School Choice Policy). Therefore, it is
imperative your school responds promptly and accurately.
Enclosed is an information packet regarding this data submission.
This packet includes the following documents:
- Data Submission Instructions
- Helpful Hints to Successful Data Submission
- Glossary of Current Terms & Definitions
- Submission Timelines
- Unsafe School Choice Policy
- Internet ID Login:
These documents can also be accessed at:
http://doe.sd.gov/ofm/sdgf/index.asp
Questions will be addressed by both of the above listed agencies.
Contact Jennifer Rattling Leaf, DOE, at
jennifer.rattlingleaf@state.sd.us
or 773-4703 if you have questions or problems in accessing the web
site or data form. Contact Shawnie Rechtenbaugh, DHS, at
shawnie.rechtenbaugh@state.sd.us or 773-4807 if you have questions
regarding data content (how to report data, clarification and/or
explanations of data fields and definitions).
Final data submission is required on or before June 15, 2008. We
greatly appreciate your district’s prompt completion of this
important data collection. |
