POLICY STATEMENT - SR(2)

TITLE: Student Records - Free & Reduced Price Meal Eligibility Data

In addition to the Student Records - Data Confidentiality policy statement, free and reduced price meal lunch eligibility status data access is restricted and data disclosure must meet the criteria outlined below.

1)       Section 108 of Public Law 103-448, the Healthy Meals for Healthy Americans Act of  1994, authorizes the release of aggregated student free and reduced school meal eligibility status for federal and state education programs.

2)       For Title I purposes only, names and eligibility status of individual children may be disclosed to authorized staff within DOE's Office of Finance & Management and/or Division of Education Services and Resources.

3)       Authorized DOE staff will be trained and fully informed on the rights and responsibilities with regard to student data.

4)       Security of any data or data files shared with authorized DOE staff will remain the responsibility of the Office of Data Collection.
