Webinars replace spring assessment roadshow

Instead of a statewide roadshow covering all tests in daylong workshops, the South Dakota Department of Education is hosting a series of webinars for Smarter Balanced, Dakota STEP Science and NCSC assessments. District testing coordinators are strongly encouraged to attend the webinars. Registration is required and space is limited. All webinars will also be recorded and made available on each test’s respective portal.

Smarter Balanced webinars (all times Central)
Technology Preparation for Online Testing
This webinar has already occurred and will be available on the South Dakota Smarter Balanced Assessment Portal by mid-February.

Interim Teacher Hand Scoring System Training
This webinar has already occurred and will be available on the South Dakota Smarter Balanced Assessment Portal by mid-February.

TIDE and TDS System Training: Feb. 18, 2-4 p.m.

Online Reporting System Training: Feb. 19, 3-4 p.m.

If more than one person from a district is attending, districts are encouraged to consider having staff gather to participate in the webinar as a group, and cancel other registrations on GoSignMeUp. This will free up space for attendees from other districts.

Dakota STEP Science and Dakota STEP Science ALT webinars (all times Central)
This 90-minute webinar will be repeated several times. The final webinar will be a chance to ask questions and get ready for the actual administration. Note: After registering in GoSignMeUp, paste the link from the confirmation email into your browser and complete the registration process with GoToMeeting.

• March 2, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
• March 3, 10:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-2:30 p.m.
• March 4, 10:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-2:30 p.m.

• March 26, 1:00-2:30 p.m.

A district's staff may also attend a Dakota STEP Science webinar as a group.
