Two South Dakota high school seniors will have an opportunity to travel to West Virginia for the annual National Youth Science Camp, a residential science education program.
Two high school seniors from each of the 50 states will receive a full scholarship to travel to and attend the camp sponsored by the National Youth Science Foundation. Recipients will be able to complete hands-on research projects and exchange ideas with scientists and other professionals from the academic and corporate realms during the nearly month-long experience that runs from June 27 to July 21.
Applicants must demonstrate superior academic proficiency, particularly in math or science; curiosity and eagerness to explore varied topics; and application of leadership abilities.
Applications are available at www.nysc.org and must be submitted to South Dakota’s state selection coordinator, Sam Shaw at the Department of Education, by Feb. 17 in order to be considered. For more information, contact Shaw at (605) 773-5229 or email@example.com.
