Deubrook Area School District wins $10,000 theatre grant

Have you ever had a $10,000 secret? Deubrook Area school counselor and theatre adviser Susan Kranz has. In late February, she got a phone call letting her know that her school district was one of only 50 nationwide winners (out of 1,000 applicants) of an NBC R.I.S.E. America grant. Then she had to keep it quiet.

Mentoring. Engage. Encourage. Empower. Applications available for statewide mentoring program
The statewide mentoring program provides a first-year teacher access to a mentor teacher for a period of two years. Applications for new mentors are due May 1, and applications for new teachers are due June 15. Late hires will also have an opportunity to participate.

The Digital Library March Spotlight: ‘Punkin Chunkin’ Quadratic Equations and Projectile Motion

This month we highlight a resource that allows students to work with measurements and graphing to determine the winner of a “Punkin Chunkin” contest. The Digital Library is an online repository of formative assessment resources available at no cost to all South Dakota public school teachers.
