School and Personnel

This section presents information related to school operations and personnel. South Dakota had 168 public school districts in 2004-05, down from 177 a decade ago. The number of classroom FTEs has remained fairly steady over the last five years. While 30 percent of those FTEs fall in the “over 51” age group, only 17 percent fall in the 20-30 age group.
