South Dakota no longer receives funds to support Coordinated School Health.
Administration of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey and the School Health Profiles is conducted by the South Dakota Department of Health in cooperation with the South Dakota Department of Education.


Coordinated School Health

 CONTACT

Coordinated School Health is a collaborative partnership between the South Dakota Departments of Education and Health. Through funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we develop partnerships and coordinate programming to improve the health and educational outcomes of young people! A coordinated approach to school health improves children’s health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, schools, and communities working together.

CDC Priority Areas include addressing nutrition, physical activity, tobacco prevention and HIV prevention through the following strategies:
