Summer Student Learning Objective Training

Student Learning Objective (SLO) trainings will be held across the state during July. There will be 154 trainings broken out by grade and content areas. Beginning in the 2014-15 school year teachers will begin to write SLOs as a component of their teacher evaluations. All teachers will be required to write an SLO to measure student growth beginning in 2015-16. These trainings are designed to guide you through the process of writing an SLO and identifying ways to measure growth.

State-Provided PD and Technical Assistance
The South Dakota Department of Education will provide professional development and technical assistance to support districts as they work to implement teacher and principal effectiveness systems. Click here for schedule of planned opportunities beginning January 2014.
