LEAD:
Leading Education through Administrator Development
Balanced Leadership Academies
Best suited for superintendents, principals and other instructional leaders,
these academies focus on leading change efforts in K-12 schools. Based on the
McREL Balanced Leadership Model, the academies provide current research and
practice on 21 different leadership responsibilities to achieve significant
gains in student achievement.

Program Objectives
- To increase school administrators’ understanding of current research
about effective school leadership.
- To develop and strengthen leadership capacity for leading and managing
change in schools.
- To help school administrators create learning communities in their
schools which are purposeful and focused on improving student achievement.
