South Dakota’s Framework for Teaching

RECOMMENDED TEACHER EVALUATION STEPS
This instrument has been created to aide districts in developing an evaluation tool that provides both accountability and teaching improvement. Its purpose is to serve as a guide as districts adopt teaching standards aligned with the Framework for Teaching (FfT). Districts are encouraged to customize the instrument to fit their specific needs.
It is recognized that some districts have evaluation procedures in place that are working. These districts are encouraged to incorporate the evidence based FfT rubrics practices into their existing model. The instrument will also be a guide to those districts who are beginning the task of creating a new evaluation tool.
Click here for steps common to any district adopting teaching standards.
