New teacher group to serve liaison role
A Teacher Advisory Council, made up of 12 distinguished educators from across the state, was recently established by the Department of Education. The purpose of the council is three-fold: to recognize these educators and utilize them in a meaningful way; to inform them about state initiatives and they, in turn, can convey that information to teachers in their districts; and to gather valuable input to update and revise policies and plans affecting teachers statewide.
