605 Strong offering mental health sessions for educators in March

605 Strong is a partnership of the South Dakota Department of Social Services, Department of Health, Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota, and the 211 Helpline Center. Throughout March, the program is offering virtual mental health sessions specifically for educators.

These virtual sessions are geared toward providing stress-relieving strategies and mental health awareness and are open to any type of educator to attend.

  • Coping Strategies and Techniques in Times of Stress/Distress
    This session will present and review positive/healthy coping strategies during times of stress and distress.

  • Mental Health 101
    This session will discuss what we mean by mental health, helping to get rid of the stigma, key points in caring for one’s mental health, and how to be present with others who are struggling with a mental health concern.

  • Work-Life Boundaries
    This session will discuss the importance and “how-to” of setting work-life boundaries and Q&A.

  • Progressive Muscle Tension Relaxation and Guided Imagery
    A mental health professional will guide participants through both progressive muscle tension relaxation and guided imagery.
