Science Educator Opportunity

Standard Setting for SDSA

The South Dakota Department of Education, Office of Assessment, has an opportunity for science educators to help with standard setting for the recently field-tested South Dakota Science Assessment (SDSA). During this 2-day activity, educators will work together with representatives from the vendor to review testing data for the determination of cut scores and performance level descriptors. Participants will be placed in one of 3 groups, either grade 5, 8, or 11. One group for each grade level assessed.

Who is needed: Science educators from elementary, middle school, and high school
What it is: Standard setting/cut score determination for South Dakota Science Assessment (SDSA)
When it is: August 15-16, 2017
Where it is: Pierre at the SD DOE offices
What is included for participants: Reimbursement for mileage, meals, hotel, as well as a stipend of $125/day for a total of $250
