REPORT CARD

REPORT CARD | ASSESSMENT REPORT

Each year, the South Dakota Department of Education is required to produce two reports related to student achievement on the Dakota STEP and Dakota STEP-A tests. There is a distinct difference between these two reports; it is outlined below. Both the Report Card and the Assessment Report contain information about public school districts only.
REPORT CARD

The Report Card represents the scores of students who were continuously enrolled in a single district from Oct. 1 to the last day of the testing window. This is the information upon which adequate yearly progress determinations are based.

ASSESSMENT REPORT

The Assessment Report represents the scores of all students in a district or school -- not just those who completed the full academic year.
