Take a deep dive into Studies Weekly at Civics & History Summit

Studies Weekly

If you’re a K-5 educator responsible for teaching South Dakota’s new Social Studies standards in 2025-26, you won’t want to miss the Civics & History Summit, June 24-25, in Sioux Falls.

This year’s event will feature grade-level (K-5) breakout sessions that offer a deep dive into the curriculum, which will provide necessary training for navigating and implementing Studies Weekly. The Studies Weekly materials are aligned to the new standards.

Sessions will address topics such as lesson pacing, lesson plans and resources, and weekly walkthroughs to assist in your planning. Standards correlation and scope and sequence documents will be available for participants to access. Middle and high school educators also will find sessions of interest, ranging from AI to indigenous topics.

The event is free. Participants can earn 15 continuing education contact hours or one graduate credit at a reduced rate. Registration is open now.
