Educators who teach grades 2-5 are eligible to attend the South Dakota Elementary Teacher STEM Initiative at South Dakota State University (SDSU) this summer. The workshop, which is sponsored by the Department of Education, will enable participants to spend a week on campus immersing themselves in all things STEM as they learn about integrated STEM, discover STEM activities for students in grades 2-5, and practice routines that can be used in the classroom to engage all students.

Attendees will have time to work with teachers of the same grade level to create high-quality, integrated STEM lessons to use in the classroom. Those who complete the workshop will have the option to earn two graduate credits at a reduced tuition rate ($40/credit). Room and board are provided on campus during the workshop.

The workshop at SDSU will take place June 10-14. Applications are available on the Board of Regents website.
