Using interim assessments to drive student learning
As students return to the classroom this fall, educators will be considering the question of, “What knowledge and skills do my students currently possess, and how can I assist them to work toward grade-level skills?” The Department of Education (DOE) provides interim assessments, aligned to the South Dakota state standards for English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science at no cost to public school districts.
The DOE will host in-person workshops that will give educators an in-depth look at these assessments, their role in advancing student learning, and how to administer them effectively and efficiently. The workshop will feature presentations by professionals from districts currently using the interim assessments. All workshops will run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time.
