Now taking public comment: Science and CTE Government & Public Administration standards

The Board of Education Standards met on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, in Sioux Falls to hold public hearings on proposed standards in Science and CTE Government and Public Administration. This was the second of four hearings; the next hearing will be held in Pierre on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.

The board is interested in gathering feedback from educators on the proposed standards. Teachers of these subjects are encouraged to review the standards – find them on the DOE’s Content Standards webpage – and to offer public comment. Public comment can be offered in three ways:

• Online via the Public Comment Feedback Survey
• Written comment through the mail
• Testimony (in person or virtual) at one of the four public hearings

A final public hearing will be held in April in Rapid City.
