High school students sought for National Youth Science Camp

National Youth Science Academy logo Applications are now being accepted from high school juniors and seniors to represent South Dakota at the 2024 National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp). Two students from each state, Washington, D.C., and select countries will attend the all-expenses-paid program, which will be held June 29-July 20, 2024.

Hosted in Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia, the NYSCamp is a residential science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) program designed to honor and challenge some of the nation’s rising STEAM leaders and provide them with opportunities to engage with STEAM professionals and participate in exciting outdoor activities.

The 2024 NYSCamp will aim to be fully in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning on June 29 and for three full weeks of in-person programming. Selected delegates must commit to attending the entire camp. This experience will include world-class lectures, directed studies, and seminars with prestigious and up-and-coming STEAM professionals who are making a difference in their fields of study and changing the world for good.

The NYSCamp is offered to selected participants at no cost—including meals, housing, and transportation—so that talented students may attend regardless of their financial ability. If you know a student who would benefit from this camp, please encourage them to apply.

For more information about the program, see nyscamp.org. Applications must be submitted online at apply.nyscamp.org by 11:59 PM EST on Feb. 29, 2024.
