Assessment: Test Review
Parents and legal guardians of students who were enrolled full-time or part-time in South Dakota schools during the state testing window can have the opportunity to view their child’s assessment as provided by the Family Educational Rights and Protection Act (FERPA) and in SDCL 13-3-55.2. These tests include:
- SD ELA and Math General Education Assessments in the areas of English language arts and Mathematics in grades 3,4,5,6,7,8, & 11
- ELA and Math Alternate Assessments in the areas of English language arts and Mathematics in grades 3,4,5,6,7,8, & 11 for students with the most severe cognitive disabilities
- South Dakota Science Assessments in grades 5, 8, & 11
- South Dakota Science Assessment Alternate in grades 5, 8, & 11 for students with the most severe cognitive disabilities
Procedure & Guidelines
Your Student’s Score Report
Every student who participates in state testing receives a score report. These are distributed by your local school.
If you did not receive a score report for your child, or have specific questions about your child’s scores and/or performance, please contact your local school district office.
