Amy Verhelst SD 2025 Teacher of the Year
In an effort to raise awareness of the teaching profession and to encourage young people and second career individuals to consider a career in education, the Department of Education (DOE) is launching a new series of videos. These videos feature South Dakota educators talking about the rewards of being a teacher here in The Mount Rushmore State. They are genuine, heart-felt, and inspiring, and we invite you to share widely on your own social media platforms and with specific students that you think would make good teachers. We will be showcasing these videos here in TeachSD over the next months, starting with South Dakota’s 2025 Teacher of the Year Amy Verhelst. To see more videos featuring South Dakota educators, visit SDteach.org.
