Culinary Kit in the Classroom Lesson Plans

The Farm to School Culinary Kit in the Classroom lesson plans offer a valuable and engaging way to teach students about local foods, food preparation, and where the food they eat comes from. Lesson plans are arranged by grade bands for kindergarten through 5th grade students. Educators can choose five different lessons within their grade band. Lessons are approximately 35-40 minutes long.
Each lesson has the content standards clearly identified and covers a food found in South Dakota. The lessons also cover a cooking component and taste testing! With produce plentiful across the state, this is a great time of year to dive into this content.
