
Culinary Kit in the Classroom
The Farm to School Culinary Kit in the Classroom lesson plans offer a valuable and engaging way to teach students about local foods available in SD, food preparation, and where the food they eat comes from. Lesson plans (that meet SD content standards) are arranged by grade bands, and educators can choose five different lessons within their grade band. Lessons are approximately 35-40 minutes long. Reimbursement for food supplies used to prepare the lesson recipes is available exclusively to schools that receive the kits. Reimbursement funds are limited and available until allocated grant funds are exhausted.
