An Ocean of JAG Students Hone Leadership Skills

On Oct. 8-9, JAG-South Dakota student leaders from across the state gathered for the Emerging Leaderships Summit, where they built leadership skills, confidence, and connections to take back to their schools and communities.

This year’s theme, “An Ocean of Leaders,” was chosen by the student officer team and reflected the depth of talent and potential in the room. Students heard directly from inspiring professionals, including senior leaders from the Vertical Lift division for Boeing’s Defense, Space, & Security , such as Vice President and General Manager KJ Jolivette—who grew up on the Rosebud Reservation. They also had the opportunity to connect with First Lady Sandy Rhoden, who attended to engage with students and learn more about their experiences..

JAG-SD is a program supervised by the department and is proven to help students persist through graduation.
