Governor Rhoden Proclaims October Farm to School Month

South Dakota proudly joins the nationwide celebration with Governor Rhoden’s Executive Proclamation of October as Farm to School Month. This proclamation recognizes the vital role that Farm to School plays in providing local food, education, and healthy eating opportunities for our children.

As we celebrate Farm to School Month, school educators are encouraged to use educational material found on the SD Farm to School webpage. The Culinary Kits in the Classroom project and the Harvest of the Month material provide fun ways for students to learn where the food they eat comes from.
