The department and the Board of Regents partnered to design courses grounded in the Science of Reading for South Dakota educators to develop skills needed for the classroom - irrespective of grade level or content area. Courses are open now for enrollment for completion by October 2026.

The percent of students performing at grade level on English language arts again rose one additional percentage point, reaching 52 percent. In math, the percent of students at grade level remained at 44.
